The Island Packet 370 represents the combined talents of the engineering, design, sales, and marketing staffs at Island Packet, coupled with the constructive and enlightened feedback of our enthusiastic owners and dealers. Marking a notable evolution in the Island Packet family, the 370 offers refined keel shapes and a higher aspect ratio rig for increased performance, new rudder shaft and blade geometry for enhanced control under sail and power, and a watertight anchor locker bulkhead for added security. The accommodations also shine, with the ever popular island berth both fore and aft, a separate shower stall in the head, and an optional Plus Package that boasts a solid, bevel planked teak and oak sole, premium Corian countertops in the galley and head, and furniture quality satin finish varnish on all interior wood surfaces.
This IP370 is a solid boat with great potential. Somewhat of a diamond in the rough.
The gelcoat is nearly flawless - no dings or chips from dropped winch handles. Non-skid is in great condition. The boat could use a good compound and wax job.
Exterior teak needs to be sanded and refinished. There are no cracks or checks, but it is all weathered.
The canvas Bimini is good for a few more years. The port and starboard dodger isinglass panels have recent isinglass in the old canvas. Center dodger isinglass panel is cloudy.
The solar panels (2X 120W) and charge controller are functional.
The interior is in good condition, but needs a deep cleaning. Some joinery needs to be refinished.
Standing rigging and sails are original. The main needs a small repair where it meets the mast when furled all the way in. The genoa is still serviceable, and the staysail appears rarely used. Running rigging looks to be in good condition, but needs a deep cleaning.
The generator is a Mastervolt 4kW unit that is no longer supported by Mastervolt. However, I think the unit can be repaired if one can find the circuit board that monitors the safety sensors. The generator engine has not been started in a few years, but at last attempt, it would run for 30 seconds and shut down. The owner had a tech troubleshoot and all sensors are functioning properly. Logic says the circuit board it faulty, but it could be something else. Buyer should be prepared to replace the generator, and perhaps sell this one for parts.
Navigation electronics are original, except for the autopilot. The radar does not spin up. Buyer should budget for replacing plotter and radar. The autopilot is a modern Raymarine unit installed new in 2018.
The main engine runs strong without smoke. The feathering prop needs to be adjusted, as the boat reaches hull speed with the engine as less than full RPM. The prop needs new bushings as well. There is a spare fixed prop included with the sale.
